Throughout October 2026, from Monday to Friday, passengers travelling on Frecce, Regional and Intercity trains in various regions of Italy will have free access to an information and counselling service on cancer prevention. The service will be provided by specialist doctors made available by AIOM, in collaboration with the IncontraDonna Foundation.

The initiative aims to promote the screening programmes included in the Essential Levels of Care (LEA), with particular attention to breast cancer prevention, as well as cervical and colorectal cancer. During the consultation, passengers will receive advice on adopting a healthy and active lifestyle, a key tool in cancer prevention. The importance of the organised screening programmes offered by the National Health Service will also be explained, and passengers will be encouraged to consult their regional health portal for detailed information on how to participate, addressing those within the eligible age groups.

If, during the consultation, any issues arise that require further clinical or diagnostic investigation, and with the individual's consent, it will be possible to undergo a breast examination and, if deemed necessary, a breast ultrasound. The medical reports will be provided to the patient, together with advice to consult their GP, while clarifying that the examination and diagnostic test do not replace the official screening programmes.
